Flooded Equipment After Heavy Rain
South Florida's downpours do not spare newer construction. Ground level equipment pads, low lying yards near a lake feature, and exterior panels or disconnects mounted lower than they should be can all end up standing in water during a heavy storm. If you see water anywhere near your panel, your generator's control cabinet, or any exterior electrical enclosure, do not touch it and do not attempt to switch anything off at that enclosure.
